From humble beginnings, Boom Shankar was built from a love of colour, dressing to make you happy, and the teamwork of a whole lot of special people along the way. In their case, it truly does take a village, as what they do wouldn’t be possible without their incredibly talented makers and craftspeople in India, and their design, retail, customer service and marketing team in Australia, and, most importantly, their beautiful customers… that’s YOU!   • English countryside born Caroline started her fashion journey in London after her university studies in Manchester. Joining the Sara Berman boutique brand, designing the main line and selling into major department stores and retailers. Caroline had the opportunity to work with N.Peal, where her interest in knitwear began, and also collaborated with Sophie Cranston of Libelula, known for her designs worn by Kate Middleton. Caroline’s experience in the British fashion industry allowed her to work across the supply chain, from factory floors to selling collections at London Fashion Week. Later, she joined Burberry's runway collection team, where she shadowed talented designers and witnessed the craftsmanship of hand and machine knitting in Italy.

    In 2011, Caroline took a leap of faith and travelled to Australia, where she designed for Witchery and Cotton On. However, starting and now running Maxted on the Surf Coast with their 100% Australian Merino clothing range has brought her the greatest happiness. The luxury collection, sourced from Victorian farms, includes a variety of merino wool garments such as cardigans, pullovers, jumpers, and cable knitwear.
